Circle in circle progress

Less than half the blocks are completed so this is not a final arrangement–just a progress report.  I know I will not have the darkest fabric smack in the middle!  When I started a few sample blocks, I had just pulled 5 fabrics from my stash to see if I liked them together.  I did, so I went back through and found quite a few more that worked.  I am hand piecing the curves.  Don’t know if I will put the blocks together by machine or by hand.  Stay tuned to find out!

Like the Drunkard’s Path there are so many ways you can arrange the blocks. It’s looking really good – very cool pattern.

  2. This pattern is wonderful with these fabrics. What a soothing selection of creamy pastels. And hand piecing…I so admire your skill and artistry. This quilt already says “Sweetness” to me.

Great fabrics! As to having the darkest in the middle – why not? You could shade to light at the edges, then use a strong contrasting binding.

Love the sherbert colors. Hand piecing? The whole thing? You are a better woman than I!

  5. Your color combination? A winning one. This just gave me a great idea for how to lay out a drunkard’s path, one of my UFO’s. I vote for doing the blocks by machine – that way you can start/finish another project!

  6. I LIKE it! If you have enough fabric, I would definitely keep going.

Hand piecing? Wow, you sure have a lot more patience than I do. I love the soft, muted colors. It is going to be stunning.

It’s looking good and coming along quite quickly. I would machine piece them unless you are enjoying the hand piecing too much. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
